Questions?

How can I make a booking?

The easiest way is through our Airbnb page (will be live in August), where you'll find live availability, pricing, and all the important details. If your preferred dates are already booked, don't give up hope just yet — let us know and we'll happily keep you in mind if a cancellation pops up.

How many people can you accommodate?

The house is perfect for up to 4 adults across the two main bedrooms, plus up to 5 kids (or kids-at-heart) in the bunk room.

The bunk room includes one single bunk and another with a double on the bottom and single on top. You can check out the room layouts and photos on our accommodation page.

For bookings where the 2nd queen room isn't required, this room will not be available.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 2pm, and check-out is 10am.

Need a little flexibility? Just ask. We can't make any promises, but we'll always do our best to help.

Is your property pet friendly?

As much as we love furry family members, we're unable to accommodate pets at the property.

Is it suitable for babies?

Absolutely! Babies are very welcome.

We do recommend keeping a close eye on little adventurers though — they're surprisingly fast when they spot something interesting. We provide a high chair and children's cutlery, but you'll need to bring your own portacot.

Is there a minimum stay?

Minimum stays vary depending on the season and any special offers, but generally we have a 3-night minimum stay.

Can I book for a longer-term stay?

Possibly! Send us a message and we'll be happy to discuss longer-stay options.

Is there parking?

Yes. There's sheltered parking for up to two cars, plus additional room on the property if you're bringing more vehicles.

Can I bring a caravan or set up a tent on site?

Sorry, no caravans or tents. We like to keep things simple and comfortable for everyone.

Is linen and towels included?

Yes — all linen and bath towels are provided. One less thing to pack.

Does the property have cooling and heating?

Yes to both.

There's a large reverse-cycle system in the living area, plus a fireplace for those cosy mountain evenings when marshmallows start sounding like a good idea.

During summer, the high ceilings and wraparound verandah help keep the house naturally cool. In winter, each bedroom has its own heater to keep everyone warm and snug.

What's the kitchen like?

We're big believers that holiday meals shouldn't require a degree in improvisation.

Because we love cooking when we travel, we've stocked the kitchen with plenty of equipment to make self-catering easy. If there's something missing, let us know — we're always looking for ways to improve.

Is there a supermarket in Harrietville?

Unfortunately no. We recommend that you plan and purchase your items in Bright, where you have two supermarkets, a few bread shops and a butcher. We will provide you with some basics in the pantry and fridge to get you started though. Depending on when you are visiting, there is a local market in Harrietville that sells local produce, and the Bright Food Co-op where you can source organic locally grown produce.

What's the internet and Wi-Fi like?

We use Starlink and it's been fantastic for streaming, video calls, and general internet use.

Being in a regional area, the occasional minor dropout can happen, but overall it's very reliable.

Is there a washing machine and dryer?

Yes — both are available in the laundry for guest use.

Is there a BBQ?

Absolutely. There's a BBQ onsite with plenty of gas ready to go.

If you somehow manage to run it dry halfway through your masterpiece, let us know and we'll organise a replacement as quickly as possible.

Is it true you can see the stars?

It really is. Coming from Melbourne ourselves, we were blown away by how many stars you can see on a clear night. If you have a telescope, you're in for a treat. Even without one, stepping outside after dark and looking up is pretty special.

What activities are available for kids (and the big kids)?

Plenty.

We have a storage container packed with outdoor games and equipment including cricket, badminton, pickleball, lacrosse and more.

Feel free to use whatever takes your fancy — we just ask that everything is returned ready for the next family to enjoy.

Inside, there's also an arcade machine loaded with thousands of classic games. Fair warning: the adults usually become far more obsessed with it than the kids.

Are there security cameras?

There is one camera located at the entrance gate, which is not directed at the house or guest areas.

We use it simply to confirm guest arrivals and coordinate things like cleaning, deliveries, gardening and maintenance.

There are no other cameras anywhere on the property.
